At Henson-Hinck Designs, we believe the experience of creating a home should be every bit as considered as the home itself.

Beautiful design is only part of what we do. Our clients come to us with ideas, hopes, collections, challenges, and often a great many decisions to make. Our job is to bring those pieces together into something deeply personal and to make the process of getting there feel confident, organized, and enjoyable. That philosophy guides every HHD project.

Garrett's love for design began in his childhood home in West Tennessee, where rearranging furniture became an early expression of a lifelong curiosity about how spaces shape the way we live. That curiosity eventually led him to earn a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and to establish Henson-Hinck Designs. Since then, his work has spanned gracious historic homes, new construction, mountain retreats, and city apartments, each shaped by the people who call them home.

Today, Garrett leads a collaborative team whose expertise spans interior architecture, design, project management, procurement, and client care. Together, they bring creativity, rigor, and genuine care to every project, guiding clients from the earliest ideas through the final installation.

For HHD, a successful project is more than a beautifully finished home. It is a home that feels unmistakably personal, created through a process that is thoughtful, well-managed, and genuinely enjoyable. That commitment to both the design and the experience behind it is at the heart of everything we do.

“Experiencing an interior is like walking into a story—one that reflects who you are and how you live, captured through the pieces you love and the memories you’ve collected along the way. My job is to take that story and make it shine, adding a designer touch to create a space that feels both personal and beautifully put together.”

Design that tells your story

Every project begins with listening. At our studio in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Principal Designer and Founder Garrett Henson-Hinck and his team take the time to understand how our clients live, what they value, and what they want their homes to say about them. We believe the best interiors don't look like they belong to a designer. They look like they belong to the people who live in them. The result is design that is personal, layered with meaning, and made to feel as though it was meant to be.

An elevated experience

For HHD, luxury isn't simply about beautiful materials or exceptional furnishings. It is about care. We believe clients should never have to wonder what happens next, track down an answer, or manage the hundreds of details required to bring a project together. Our team works deliberately behind the scenes, coordinating schedules, communicating clearly, stewarding budgets, solving problems, and anticipating what comes next. It is a disciplined approach to project management, but it is also a form of hospitality: creating an experience in which our clients feel informed, cared for, and confident from the first conversation through the final installation.

Relationships that make great work possible

Exceptional interiors are created through collaboration. Over the years, HHD has built relationships with talented artisans, workrooms, vendors, installers, and master craftspeople who share our commitment to quality. These relationships allow us to bring together the right people and resources for each project and to execute the details that transform a design concept into a finished home.

But our most important relationships are with our clients. We want the trust built during a project to extend well beyond installation. The homes we create are personal, and the process of creating them should be, too.
